Chipmunk 1.0.3
Apr/06/2008 11:28 AM Posted in:Releases
I added a check to make sure that the boot volume doesn't fill up.
When there's less than half a gigabyte free memory on the boot volume (or the volume the users home folder is on), Chipmunk stops cataloguing or comparing in order to protect the user (i.e. you) from a full boot disk. This should reduce the number of people getting stuck considerably.
Tip: If you are like me and your boot disk is 99% full most of the time, do yourself a favor and install iStat menus from islayer.com. You can then easily monitor your free memory. I advise on keeping at least 1GB free on the boot disk. Below that value starts the bumpy ride in my experience.
Changes:
- added a check for low hard disk space condition
Chipmunk 1.0.2

Beta 6 a lot more stable!
Mar/14/2008 11:54 AM Posted in:Beta
After hunting for crash bugs for quite a while, this should be a lot more stable now. Thanks to everybody who send in crash reports. Without them I wouldn't know what's going wrong or that something's going wrong in the first place. I also reduced memory consumption considerably which benefits people who scan large drives for duplicates. Have Fun!
Changes:
- displays count of catalogued files
- fixed several crashing issues
- reduced memory consumption considerably
